OUR TEAM
Nigel Tennant
Nigel is the Founder and owner of First Advisors, and has achieved 35 years of Financial Planning experience having started his career in the early years of 1979. Nigel has established his reputation in the industry as a professional, ethical and highly skilled Financial Planner. Nigel has acquired qualifications in Financial Wealth Management (NQF5) and Diplomas in Marketing and Financial Management. Nigel has completed the industry regulatory exams: RE 1 Level 5 and RE 1 Level 1 and maintains industry related CPD points.
Ludwig Buchner
Whilst studying he worked for one of the Rennies group companies who offered him permanent employment and where he spend the next 10 years occupying various positions, his final being head of company re – organisation and member of the EXCO. He left the freight and logistics industry in 2001 to join Liberty’s management team. In 2005 he started his own financial planning practice which he still runs today.
Ludwig has completed a number of industry qualifications including Registered Financial Planning, Investment and Corporate schools and an Advanced Diploma in short term insurance from Mill Park university. Ludwig is a KI in First Advisors and his company.
As of 1 March 2023, Ludwig is a full partner and shareholder of First Advisors. He is also the owner of the Buchner Group, a short term insurance company. Visit the website
Joan Rigney
Joan Rigney is part of the team and is Nigel Tennant’s Executive Assistant and has been for the last 13 odd years.
Joan has the following role’s and does this with passion:
Acts as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients and other external partners.
Evaluates and optimizes financial controls and procedures.
Manages client relationships..
Ruzelle Paulson
Ruzelle is part of the team.
She is an Administrator and Junior Paraplanner (in training) to Nigel Tennant.
Ruzelle prepares and compares different financial modelling tools and statistical reports.
